Does Zirconium Dental Crown Cause Pain?

After the zirconia crown is prepared and done properly, it usually does not cause pain. However, if the teeth to be veneered are smaller than they should be, it may cause pain. In this case, root canal treatment will be required for the veneered tooth.

If the crowns are made long enough to press on the gums, this may cause pain in the gums as well. In this case, the veneers should be adjusted so that they do not put pressure on the gums.

If oral hygiene is not taken care of, the residues entering between the teeth veneers cause bacteria formation in those areas, triggering the formation of caries and causing pain in decaying teeth.
