There is no age limit for zirconia teeth, but the patient must have completed bone development. Bone development is usually completed at the age of 18. It can be applied to all patients who have completed bone development. There is no upper age limit. For example, it can be applied even to a patient who has reached the age of ninety.

When the residues between the teeth are not cleaned thoroughly, it causes bacteria formation and creates a bad odor in the mouth.

After the zirconia teeth are made, bad odor may occur if oral hygiene is not taken care of. However, the zirconium crown usually does not cause bad odor from the coatings. As long as oral hygiene is taken care of, zirconia teeth do not cause odor due to the nature of the material used in the construction of the veneer.

Is Zirconia Teeth Brushed?

Zirconia teeth should be brushed at least twice a day like normal teeth. Zirconium is a long-lasting material, but if oral hygiene is not taken care of, the natural teeth under the veneer can decay and because zirconium is a solid material, it may cause the decay to be noticed late. This can result in tooth loss.

Therefore, although zirconium crown is a very strong material, it must be brushed. Zirconium teeth is resistant to the formation of plaque and bacteria and therefore maintains both its color and strength even if it is not brushed.
